Forty minutes up US 1, and worth the drive in both directions
Cook's is a family business with one shop, in Palm Coast. St. Augustine is the town we drive to most, and this page explains how that works without a storefront on King Street.

The shop, and the road to it
Everything Cook’s does starts at 37 Fairmont Ln, Palm Coast, FL 32137. From there a van reaches the Plaza de la Constitución in about 39 minutes, mostly on US 1 or I-95. The south end of Anastasia Island and Crescent Beach come in sooner by way of A1A; Palencia and World Golf Village take a little longer; Flagler Estates, out on the SR 13 side of the county, is a different road entirely but a similar clock. We know those drives the way a commuter does.
There are no satellite offices scattered around the region. One headquarters means one parts inventory, one dispatch board and one standard, and it means the person who answers your call can see where every truck is.
Jerry, Sean and the people on the trucks
Cook’s is owned and run by a family, not a holding company. Jerry handles sales and sizing, which in St. Augustine means a lot of time in attics that were never meant to hold an air handler and a lot of conversations about where a condenser can go on a lot the preservation board cares about. Sean leads the technicians; if he isn’t the one at your house, he trained the person who is. The names reviewers mention are the names on the schedule.
That continuity matters more in a town with this much old housing. Picture a Fullerwood Park bungalow with a five-year-old mini-split: the company that sized and installed it is the one that answers when it needs service, not a rotating roster behind a call center.
What being a Lennox dealer changes for an old house
Dealer status means factory training on the current Lennox line, direct access to parts and the ability to register and honor the warranty ourselves rather than through a middleman. For a St. Augustine homeowner the practical benefits are specific: coil options that resist the salt coming off the bayfront and the ocean, variable-speed equipment that dries a leaky 1920s house without freezing it, compact ductless heads that fit a historic district’s exterior rules, and models that clear FPL’s efficiency bar for its instant rebate.
We still repair every brand. Dealer status is about what we install new, not about turning away the Carrier in your garage.
Homes, inns and storefronts
Roughly a quarter of the city’s residents are over 65, and a large share of the island and bayfront houses are second homes or short-term rentals. That shapes what owners ask for: key-holder arrangements, text summaries with photos, maintenance timed to turnover weeks. Ask which of those Cook’s can set up for your property. [[CONFIRM WITH JERRY]] On the commercial side, the tourism economy means lodging, restaurants and retail that cannot be without cooling on a July weekend, and we schedule accordingly.
The dispatch reality, honestly
A company 24 miles away cannot be at your door in ten minutes, and we won’t claim otherwise. What we can do is group St. Johns County calls so a technician already on the island takes the next island call, keep the parts that fail in this climate on the truck so one trip finishes the job, and answer the phone ourselves at any hour with no surcharge after dark. That’s the deal, stated plainly.
About the company
Why doesn't Cook's have an office in St. Augustine?
Because one well-stocked shop with every truck, part and person under one roof serves you better than a rented storefront with a phone on the desk. The Palm Coast headquarters is where the inventory is, and the drive to St. Augustine is short enough to make daily routes practical.
Who will I actually deal with if I buy a system?
Jerry, for the sizing and the proposal, and then an install crew led by people Sean has trained. Both names show up in customer reviews for a reason: they’re on the jobs, not in a corporate office.
Do you take on the inns and shops downtown, or just houses?
Both. Bed-and-breakfasts in the Model Land district, restaurants off St. George Street and medical offices near the hospital all run on the same kinds of split and rooftop equipment, and we repair, maintain and replace it.
Our Trane was put in by a company that has since closed. Will you take it on?
Yes. We repair and maintain Trane, Carrier, Bryant and essentially every other brand already in St. Johns County homes. Lennox is what we install new, because that’s the line we’re authorized to sell and warranty as a dealer.
